Benefits
In pain relief
Lignogesic Gel gives fast relief from pain and swelling in the muscles by creating a cooling-warming effect. It works by causing the skin to feel cool and then warm. These feelings on the skin distract you from feeling the pain in your muscles and joints. It also relaxes stiff muscles and helps in easy movement. Altogether, it will help you do your daily activities without much problem. Apply a thin layer of the medicine to the affected area no more than 3 to 4 times a day and rub in gently and thoroughly.
How it works
Lignogesic Gel is a combination of six medicines: Mephenesin, Diclofenac, Lidocaine, Methyl Salicylate, Linseed Oil and Menthol which relieve pain. Mephenesin is a muscle relaxant. It works on the centres in the brain and spinal cord to relieve muscle stiffness or spasm and to improve pain and movement of muscles. Diclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) which blocks the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling). Lidocaine is a local anesthetic which works by blocking pain signals from the nerves to brain to further decrease the pain sensation. Methyl Salicylate and Menthol are topical analgesics (pain relievers). They work by first cooling the skin then warming it up. This cooling and warming up action interferes with the pain signal transmission through nerves. Linseed Oil decreases swelling through its anti-inflammatory properties.
