Met XL 3D 50/12.5 Tablet is a combination medicine used in the treatment of hypertension (high blood pressure). It works by relaxing the blood vessels and making the heart more efficient at pumping blood throughout the body. It also removes extra water and certain electrolytes from the body. Met XL 3D 50/12.5 Tablet can be taken with or without food, but take it at the same time to get the most benefit. It makes you lose excess water through urine, hence try to take it at day time or 4 hours before bedtime to avoid frequent urination at night. It should be taken as your doctor's advice. The dose and how often you take it depends on what you are taking it for. Your doctor will decide how much you need to improve your symptoms. You should take this medicine for as long as it is prescribed for you. Nausea, taste change, diarrhea and stomach upset are some common side effects of this medicine. Regular monitoring of kidney function and electrolytes is important while using this medicine. This medicine should be used along with lifestyle changes like a healthy diet, regular exercise and smoking cessation for best results. You are advised to drink plenty of fluids to overcome mouth dryness and extreme thirst. Met XL 3D 50/12.5 Tablet is a combination of three medicines: Chlorthalidone, Metoprolol Succinate and Telmisartan which lower blood pressure effectively.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Met XL 3D 50/12.5 Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.

DrivingUNSAFE

Met XL 3D 50/12.5 Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.

KidneyCAUTION

Met XL 3D 50/12.5 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Met XL 3D 50/12.5 Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Use of Met XL 3D 50/12.5 Tablet is not recommended in these patients.

LiverCAUTION

Met XL 3D 50/12.5 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Met XL 3D 50/12.5 Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor. Use of Met XL 3D 50/12.5 Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.

If you miss a dose of Met XL 3D 50/12.5 Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
