Motidom P Tablet

Motidom P Tablet is a prescription medicine used in the treatment of migraine. It prevents pain signals to reach the brain to reduce pain. It also blocks certain substances in the brain that trigger nausea or vomiting during migraine headaches. Motidom P Tablet is taken without food in a dose and duration as advised by the doctor. The dose you are given will depend on your condition and how you respond to the medicine. You should keep taking this medicine for as long as your doctor recommends. If you stop treatment too early your symptoms may come back and your condition may worsen. Let your healthcare team know about all other medications you are taking as some may affect, or be affected by this medicine. The most common side effect is dryness in mouth. This is temporary and usually resolve with time. Contact your doctor straight away if you are at all concerned about these side effects. Migraine attacks can be managed by identifying migraine-causing triggers which may be red wine, caffeine withdrawal, stress, and skipped meals, etc. You can identify personal triggers by maintaining a diary of what you are doing, what you are eating, and any stressful activity happened before migraine attack. Before taking this medicine, you should tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding. You should tell your doctor if you have any kidney or liver diseases so that your doctor can prescribe a suitable dose for you.

• Treatment of Migraine

Motidom P Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Domperidone and Paracetamol. Domperidone is a prokinetic which works on the region in the brain that controls vomiting. It also increases the movement of the stomach and intestines, allowing food to move more easily through the stomach. This prevents nausea and vomiting caused due to migraine. Paracetamol is an analgesic (pain reliever) and an anti-pyretic (fever reducer) which blocks the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and fever associated with migraine.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Motidom P Tablet is to be taken empty stomach.

Motidom P Tablet may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.

KidneyCAUTION

Motidom P Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Motidom P Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.

LiverCAUTION

Motidom P Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Motidom P Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor. However, the use of Motidom P Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease and active liver disease.

If you miss a dose of Motidom P Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
